The Tuckahoe Union Free School District Annual Budget Vote, Trustee Election for two (2) seats on the Board of Education and Proposition to Establish a Capital Reserve Fund will be held on June 9, 2020. In accordance with Executive Order No. 202.26, the Budget Vote and School Board Election will be held remotely, by Absentee Ballot only. Due to the COVID-19 public health emergency, ballots will not be accepted in person. However, for voters wishing to drop off their ballots instead of returning them by mail, a securely locked drop box is set up inside Cottle Elementary School for those who wish to drop off their ballots on Tuesday June 9, from 8:00am to 5:00 pm. Please note that as per a new Executive Order from the Governor today, ballots received by mail in the office of the clerk of the school district not later than June 16, 2020 shall be canvassed for the June 9, 2020 budget vote and trustee election.  No ballots for such election shall be accepted at the drop box at William E. Cottle School after 5 p.m. on June 9, 2020 except those received by mail in accordance with this provision. This order also indicates that ballots are to be canvassed after 5 p.m. on June 16, 2020, therefore counting will be postponed until that date and time with the results available as soon as all ballots have been accounted for.

To be a qualified voter you must be a US Citizen, at least 18 years old by June 9, 2020, a School District resident for 30 days immediately preceding the budget vote/election, and not otherwise prohibited from voting under the provisions of section 5-106 of the Election Law.

All qualified voters who are registered to vote for the June 9, 2020 budget vote/election will be sent an absentee ballot. Voters who have previously registered to vote through the School District and have voted in any School District election/vote during the past four (4) calendar years need not re-register to vote for this budget vote/election. In addition, voters who are currently registered to vote through the Westchester County Board of Elections need not re-register to vote for this budget vote/election.

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, there will be no personal registration of voters conducted within the District.

A qualified voter may register to vote in the June 9, 2020 budget vote/election by registering to vote with the Westchester County Board of Elections. Para ser un/a votante cualificado/a, debe ser ciudadano/a de los EE. UU., Tener al menos 18 años antes del 9 de junio de 2020, ser residente del distrito escolar durante los 30 días inmediatamente anteriores a la votación/elección del presupuesto y no tener prohibido votar de acuerdo con las disposiciones de la sección 5 -106 de la Ley Electoral.

Todos los votantes cualificados que estén registrados para votar para la votación/elección del presupuesto del 9 de junio de 2020 recibirán una boleta en ausencia. Los votantes que se hayan registrado previamente para votar a través del Distrito Escolar y hayan votado en cualquier elección/voto del Distrito Escolar durante los últimos cuatro (4) años calendarios no necesitan volver a registrarse para votar por este voto de presupuesto/elección.
