I am excited to share that our second week of school has been a great success. Students are fully engaged in their academics and collaborate wonderfully with their classmates. It's inspiring to see how quickly they’ve settled into their routines, focusing on their studies while building strong relationships in the classroom.
At the high school, we recently hosted our Senior College Night, an informative event where students and their families learned the ins and outs of the college application process. A college admissions counselor, along with our dedicated guidance counselors and school administrators, offered valuable insights and advice on navigating this pivotal time. Preparing our students for their future—whether in college or career—is a priority, and events like this are key to making that path smoother and more accessible for all of our students.
It’s been wonderful to walk through the halls and see so many smiling faces—both from students and staff. The enthusiasm in the air is contagious, and it’s a testament to the strong sense of community we have here at Tuckahoe. As we continue through this terrific school year, we remain focused on ensuring that every learner's needs are met and that every student has the opportunity to thrive.
Thank you for your continued partnership and support. I look forward to the many accomplishments and milestones we will achieve together in the weeks and months ahead. At Tuckahoe, we truly believe in "Every Learner, Every Need." With your continued support, Tuckahoe leads the way to a bright future for all of our students.
Our teachers have been instrumental in setting the positive tone we want to carry throughout the year. They are not only teaching content but also creating environments that foster curiosity, inclusivity, and respect. From the beginning of the school year, they’ve worked hard to ensure every student feels supported and excited about learning.
At the elementary level, we are especially excited about implementing a new literacy screener. This tool will allow us to monitor students' reading skills closely and quickly identify any challenges, including signs of dyslexia. Early detection of reading issues is crucial to providing the support students need, and this new approach underscores our commitment to ensuring every child becomes a confident reader.
